Protect your Personal Digital Keys. Beware of fraudulent links

Recently, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority received a phishing email or a mobile phone text message sent by someone using the name of a bank to defraud personal data and property. "Phishing" attacks continue to increase. To protect yourself, remember the following three tips to avoid falling victims to scams!
We will not send SMS or email with hyperlinks, file attachments and QR codes directing you to the Bank's website or mobile applications to carry out transactions.

We will not ask you to provide any sensitive personal information, including login information of digital banking services (such as login ID, login passwords, one-time passwords (OTPs), etc.) and bank account information, through hyperlinks.

If you receive any hyperlink purportedly sent by our bank, think twice before clicking it! If you have any doubt, please call our Security Incident Hotline on 310‌1 3111 or contact your relationship manager.
In the digital world, account login and personal information are your personal digital keys. They are as important as the keys to your home, and should be well protected.
How can I identify frauds and online pitfalls?
In consideration of the continued increase in "Phishing" attacks, the Hong Kong Police Force has launched the one-stop scam and pitfall search engine, Scameter, to help the public identify frauds and online pitfalls. Should you have any doubt on telephone number, email address, web address, platform account name or number, payment account etc, please use Scameter to assess the risk of fraud and cyber security.

The data and rating of the Scameter come from various sources, including public reports to the police, information provided by organisations, suspicious phone number database, as well as the database and real-time analysis from information security companies.
